Article Synopsis – Researchers have discovered evidence that “3 million years ago- when the Earth was 2-3 degrees above pre-industrial temperatures- sea level was as much as 16 meters (52 ft) higher than today”. These findings will have significant impacts on the current ice sheet models and suggest that sea level will rise at least that high even if carbon emissions are eliminated.
