NEWSWEEK recently did a Special Issue, “100 Place to Remember Before They Disappear.” It was supposed to be on sale until July 12, but perhaps you can still find a copy. It’s vivid and poignant. Good intro editorial by Fareed Zakaria.The ocean is a strong theme ranging from sea level rise, to vulnerable islands. It covers much more, however, including places you might not immediately think of, e.g. Mount Kilimanjaro-Tanzania, Big Sur-California, Panama Canal, Monteverde Cloud Forest-Costa Rica, County Meath-Ireland, Bangkok, Bay of Plenty-New Zealand… many more. Thought provoking.
