Article Synopsis – The Pentagon has a key role to play in mitigating climate change by investing in new energy technologies and reducing the carbon footprint of the U.S. Military. The U.S. military is currently “the nation’s single largest consumer of energy and the world’s single largest consumer of petroleum”. By using the pentagon as a force for positive change, we have the “opportunity to substantially reduce carbon emissions while creating millions of new green tech jobs that could help revive and strengthen the American economy after the Covid-19 crisis”.
