Holiday Wishes – the Magic of Ice

Ice Crystals by Rubelson

Winter Solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Chinese New Year – December is a month full of holidays and holy days. For many it’s a time for family gatherings, gift giving, to be with friends, and to reflect as we head towards a new year.

During the winter season, I’m always struck by the beauty of ice crystals. Their delicate and intricate artwork is magical. It is astonishing to think that the world’s massive glaciers and ice sheets are made up of countless such tiny, fragile structures. As the earth warms it is the melting of these very crystals that is raising sea level.

Change and impermanence have always been the way of nature. As we head into 2020 may we all find the strength to change and live in harmony with nature.

May the magical nature of crystals remind you to enjoy the present moment. I wish you and yours blessed and joyful holidays!
