Article Synopsis – In order to adapt to rising sea levels, the Maldives has been engineering an artificial island, named Hulhumalé, to relocate its residents to once its islands are no longer habitable. So far more than 50,000 people have moved onto Hulhumalé, which was built 2m above sea level.
