Article Synopsis – Scientists are looking at surging glaciers- glaciers that flow ten to one hundred times faster than normal glaciers- to predict how large, accelerating glaciers will behave so they can more accurately predict sea level rise. While surging glaciers do not directly contribute to overall levels of sea level rise, they can increase the speed at which those levels are reached. To read the actual article click here
