The World Is Dangerously Lowballing The Economic Cost Of Climate Change, Study Finds – The Huffington Post

Article Synopsis – Scientists warn that leading global forecasts widely underestimate the future costs of climate change, by using outdated models. Currently, the projections used by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change fail to account for human uncertainty or “tipping points” such as the melting of the Antarctic ice sheet or the thawing of the Arctic permafrost which could “increase the rate of climate change astronomically”. The projections are also based on an average of all possible climate change scenarios, where “newer models account for the increased likelihood of more warming”. To read the actual article click here
