Article Synopsis – Human impacts from overfishing, chemical and plastic pollution, recreation, and climate change have pushed the oceans and their inhabitants to the brink of collapse. Ninety percent of the world’s fisheries are at or over their limits; large species like dolphins, whales, turtles, seals, sharks, and rays have declined by 75-90%; and up to 90% of the coral reefs in some areas are now bleached.
