Article Synopsis – Negative emissions technology, like carbon capture and forest restoration, will be important for reducing the CO2 in the atmosphere, but will not replace our need to drastically reduce our emissions. These technologies will need to be relied upon to make up for the emissions from industries that are nearly impossible to reduce to zero, but are not possible on a large enough scale to allow us to continue business as usual output.
