Article Synopsis – Jennifer Jurado, Broward County’s resilience officer discusses the efforts that have been undertaken to address sea level rise in south Florida as well as the steps that still need to be taken. Some of these include improving drainage, working to keep tidal waters at bay, updating flood maps, and investing in resilient infrastructure. “The reality is that we must couple sound adaptation planning with local and regional investments while we work to reduce the rate of sea-level rise through energy consumption practices and sources.
