Hi There -- I am certainly familiar with the work of Lindzen and Happer. Wikipedia does a fair job of characterizing their views on climate change. They are outliers to put it kindly. My use of that chart about 11 year cycles was merely to put them in context with the warming. You choose to look at sections of the Holocene, out of context I believe. If you look at several "ice age cycles" - or more properly glacial cycles, within the Pleistocene, the era of polar ice caps, which we are still in, which has persisted for the last 2.58 million years, the macro pattern of warming / cooling cycles following 95 - 125 thousand years becomes clear. A graph of the last 400 kyrs is at https://johnenglander.net/wp/sea-level-rise-blog/single-image-proves-human-caused-global-warming/ In the last few thousand years we were at the peak, with natural forces following the trend to enter a cooling era that would likely have lasted some 80,000 years. Our warming induced force has created anomalies. Seeing patterns in climate and weather is prone to opinion because of all the variability. From the Maunder minimum to the little ice age, to the medieval warm period, anomalies abound. Yet the correlation of the ice age cycles for 2.58 million years is well explained by the Milankovitch Cycles; until the industrial era, that orbital oscillation explains the temperature change we call the ice ages and explains the change in CO2 level. Now we have altered the CO2 level as both Happer and Lindzen acknowledge. CO2 was demonstrated in 1859 by John Tyndall to trap heat, now known as the Greenhouse gas effect, a proof is easy to demonstrate and is not in dispute. The force of the 11 year solar cycle is insignificant compared to the GHG forcing. So I cannot come to your perception. Also you might look at the work of Richard A. Muller, a physicist who was of your view and then publicly recanted after setting up a program to try to prove your viewpoint and finding the facts led to the mainstream position, i.e. burning fossil fuels adds to CO2 sufficiently to overcome the natural ice age cycle forcing, as well as all the shorter terms allows to which you point. You also get something out of watching Jerry Taylor's position, as a former executive at the CATO Institute. https://youtu.be/81FI_RWlchg Best wishes in your search for truth and understanding.

In reply to Graham.

Hi There — I am certainly familiar with the work of Lindzen and Happer. I stumbled upon this and while reading it noticed some very un scientific assumptions. Have you looked at the work of Prof Robert Lindzen or Will Happer? Looking at the list of links to the right is seems you are perhaps already lost to the climate mill for sheep. You speak of a lot of noise on the internet when you are also a part of that domain. There are many more activities that affect our climate other than CO2 and this assumption is in part or whole highly dangerous. The pic you have for one is not really relevant on a 100 year data (taken out of context) The comments about have less kids, plant trees, compost food waste are a mash of un informed people sorry. IF you believe CO2 drives temp (it doesn't and never has) then composting producing methane is also bad (it's not since the CO2 alarm is hopefully close to full exposure) Are you aware of the other factors that affect our environment and global temps? can I point you to the Hadcrut data set and factually point this out for your own checking. 1. Modern Pre-industrial conditions were cooler by about 0.7C than the period covering 2000 years from 8 to 6 thousand years ago. 2. Extratropical temperatures were cooler by about 1C than the period covering 2000 years from 8 to 6 thousand years ago. 3. The IPCC Pre-industrial Reference period of 1850 to 1900 is cooler than nearly all the Holocene. 4. The modern 20th / 21st Century Global Average Temperature (1901 to 2018) is cooler than a period covering around 8000 years of the Holocene. 5. The Global Average Temperature for the 50 year modern period 1969 to 2018 is cooler than a period covering around 5,500 years of the Holocene. please do not become a sheep. Have a look at 1000frolly Phd or Tony Heller'S site (Dr Mann tried to sue him for false information but couldn't) people are being lied to the truth should be seen for all. there are many papers on this topic. Below is the Daulton minimum that saw the Thames freeze over. CO2 is a hijacked weaponised political science with no actual fact behind it other than fears pushed with selective data sets. Steinhilber, F., Abreu, J. A., Beer, J., Brunner, I., Christl, M., Fischer, H., . . . McCracken, K. G. (2012). 9,400 years of cosmic radiation and solar activity from ice cores and tree rings. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 109(16), 5967-5971. please take a look at ALL the information and reply with your thoughts. I am aware of the disinformation circling thought it's probably not the way you imagine. All the best Graham

Hi there. Eat less meat, compost your food scraps, grow a garden, if you have two cars make one electric. (Used non-tesla EVs are super affordable and require no maintenance.) Put solar on the roof and couple that with an air-source heat pump/ AC. Or if you're building a new place get ground source heat pump and make sure one side of your roof is sloping south. Geothermal + solar = carbon neutral. No need for fancy airtight construction. Even city people can do a lot of this. A typical American can reduce their carbon footprint >50% with these changes.
