Sea level rise could wipe out Olympia – The Olympian

Article Synopsis – According to the City of Olympia, they’re planning for a “worst case” sea level rise of about 4.5 feet by the year 2100. The current IPCC models show a rise of anywhere between three and ten feet by 2100. Of course, the IPCC models don’t take several important factors into account, such as the release of methane from the melting permafrost, and ocean acidification which inhibits production of dimethylsulphile (DMS). These two factors alone could add an almost 2.5 degree F global temperature increase by 2100. To read the actual article click here.
