Article Synopsis – According to a new study, the intrusion of saltwater into Florida’s wetland ecosystem caused by sea level rise may kill the Big Cypress trees in South Florida’s Big Cypress National Preserve. Rising seas also pose a threat to the Everglades, which the IUCN named last year the most “critically endangered” site in America thanks to pollution, human tampering, and climate change.
