Refugees of a different kind are being displaced by rising seas — and governments aren’t ready – CNBC

Article Synopsis – At least 26 million people around the world have already been displaced by rising seas, and that figure could balloon to 150 million by 2050, leaving governments unprepared to cover the associated costs. One study estimates that every one degree Celsius increase in global mean temperature will cost the U.S. 1.2 percent of its economic growth. Another estimates that the global costs could be upwards of $430 billion.
