This Is Your Planet on Sea Level Rise. Any Questions? – Union of Concerned Scientists

Article Synopsis – As more data on sea level rise comes in, the need for sound, immediate climate policies that limit carbon dioxide emissions becomes more clear and more urgent. This article does a great job of showcasing what future sea level rise scenarios will look like, by contrasting them with damage from Hurricane Sandy. The author (climate scientist Kristy Dahl) shows maps of the flooding experienced in New York and New Jersey during Hurricane Sandy next to maps of the flooding that will be experienced twice a month in the same locations by 2100 due to sea level rise. The visuals are sobering. To read the actual article click here.
