Article Synopsis – Data collected over 9 decades from the Pacific Ocean has shown that as the ocean has warmed, the proportion of warm-water phytoplankton has increased by almost 40%.  As the “foundation of marine ecosystems, phytoplankton is critical to predicting changes in future biodiversity, ocean productivity, and ultimately fisheries production.” To read the actual article click here
