New York Just Filed a Big Ol’ Lawsuit Against ExxonMobil – Grist

Article Synopsis – The New York Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against ExxonMobil alleging that they “tricked investors with a longstanding fraudulent scheme that downplayed the financial risks climate change regulation posed to the company”. This lawsuit is different than the ones that have previously failed against oil companies in New York, Colorado and California because it doesn’t seek to hold the oil companies responsible for creating climate change.
