New Orleans braces for new flooding as it copes with power outages, failed pumping system – Los Angeles Times

Article Synopsis – The city of New Orleans was overwhelmed by flooding after a heavy rainstorm compromised the city’s pumping system, leaving many streets and neighborhoods under water. Officials said that at least 14 of 120 drainage pumps located throughout the city were out of service during the storm because of power shortages and a lack of basic maintenance.
