NASA launched an unprecedented study of Greenland’s melting. Now, the data are coming in – The Washington Post
Article Synopsis – In 2015 NASA created a mission called “OMG” to measure how quickly the Oceans are Melting Greenland. This is a comprehensive study using ships, planes, and other research tools. Overall, the data starting to come in is showing that Greenland’s west coast is far more vulnerable, in general, than its east, but glaciers as a whole are more vulnerable than previously thought. These results also suggest that we could be in for more sea level rise than we thought. Greenland alone has a potential to raise sea levels by 24 feet. To read the actual article click here.
