My TEDx talk: Sea Level Rise: Fact and Fiction

My first TEDx talk is now online. I have been nervous to watch it, ever since the event May 9th, but am now relieved and proud. In just 11 minutes I was able to tell the main story, with very few graphics, in a relatively entertaining manner. Please help me get this to a wider audience. If enough people “LIKE” it, I may get selected to present at the big national or international TED talk reaching an even larger influential audience.

EXCELLENT presentation

Cheers: Exceptionally well done with a very professional, and effective delivery. It definitely needs to be shown to the big national and international audiences. Great graphics too; have never seen Florida that large and I loved the For Sale – Waterfront Property sign next to the flooded yard.

So, at the end, when the audience is gasping “What can I do?” how about suggesting they join the movement for a carbon fee and dividend. I know, it sounds way out there, but there is a surprising and growing support for some form of it, from Obama (see episode 9 of “Years of Living Dangerously”) to oil companies (see http://citizensclimatelobby.org/resources/conference-resources/) to the general public (http://community.citizensclimatelobby.org/forums/topic/62-of-americans-willing-to-pay-to-reduce-emissions/).

Thanks Richard. Generally I agree on the fee and dividend. I need to resolve how to frame and where to point them. CCL does good work, but I have had trouble connecting with them. I am also impressed by Tom Steyer’s Nextgen. Hope to see you on 26th.

Great talk

Hope thousands see it, especially the Governors of the denier states in the southeast. Here in Virginia we are slowly waking up. I am a Group Leader of the Citizens Climate Lobby in the Northern Neck of Virginia and hope you continue to reach out to CCL, let me know if there is a problem in communications. Also there is a new report out on the economics and demographics of the carbon fee and dividend approach advocated by CCL by REMI that shows a revenue-neutral carbon fee and dividend with the revemues rebated 100% to households will increase jobs, increase GDP and reduce emissions.
