Article Synopsis – A Harvard professor and a team of 50 graduate students have spent two and a half years developing new ideas that they hope will make Miami Beach resilient to sea level rise. Some of these ideas include “giant, concrete water-holding cisterns in Flamingo Park and on roofs. Buildings with “sacrificial floors” on top of a layer of limestone that would serve as a “sponge pad” for excess water.
