Article Synopsis – On Thursday, August 1st, the Greenland ice sheet lost 12.5 billion tons of ice, setting a single day record for volume loss. On Wednesday, the ice sheet lost 10 billion tons of ice. The amount of ice lost on these two days would be enough to cover Florida in almost five inches of water.
