Flooding, sea level rise take on urgency – St. Augustine Record
Article Synopsis – After the damage felt from Hurricane Matthew in October, the city of St. Augustine, FL has begun to look at their vulnerabilities to flooding and sea level rise. In conjunction with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the University of Florida, and NOAA, the city is assessing the risks and mitigation strategies to develop an adaptation plan. The question still remains as to whether or not any plan will actually be implemented, as city officials state they don’t have the resources to protect against sea level rise.
