Article Synopsis – The annual cost of flood damage in Canada could nearly triple by 2030 if protection measures are not taken, according to researchers. “In 2010, flood damage to urban areas, including homes, businesses and public infrastructure, totalled around $2.4 billion. By 2030, if nothing more is done to prevent or mitigate flood damage, that price tag will be closer to $6.6 billion.
