Exclusive: Some Arctic Ground No Longer Freezing—Even in Winter – National Geographic

Article Synopsis – New research suggests that some permafrost in Alaska and Russia may no longer freeze at all, releasing trapped greenhouse gases that could accelerate human-caused climate change. Permafrost contains more than twice the carbon found in the atmosphere as well as large quantities of methane. Permafrost melt can create a feedback loop in which more greenhouse gases are released, which fuels more global warming. To read the actual article click here
