Article Synopsis – Newly released emails show senior Environmental Protection Agency officials collaborating with the Heartland Institute, a conservative group that dismisses climate change, to gather scientists and economists known for rejecting man-made climate-change for public hearings on global warming and the agency’s science standards. They also sought the Institute’s advice on how to “counter negative news coverage and tout Administrator Scott Pruitt’s stewardship of the agency. The emails underscore how Pruitt and senior agency officials have sought to surround themselves with people who share their vision of curbing environmental regulation and enforcement”.
