Easter Island is Eroding – The New York Times

Article Synopsis – The United Nations warns that rising sea levels are rapidly eroding Easter Island’s coasts and many of the remains of Easter Island’s ancient civilization may be erased. The waves have carried off almost all of the sand on the beaches, leaving jagged volcanic stone.
