Earthquakes could cause California to sink below sea level – Raw Story

LA EarthquakeArticle Synopsis – Portions of the California could be at risk of abruptly dropping into the sea during a severe earthquake like the “Big One” scientists have been predicting for years. A new study examined seismic records and past earthquakes to determine that major earthquakes can cause the coastline to sink suddenly by 1 1/2 to 3 feet.
