Article Synopsis – Warmer waters of the Great Barrier Reef off Australia are causing more sea turtles to be born female, creating a dangerous gender imbalance in the endangered Green sea turtles. The temperature at which turtle eggs incubate determines the sex of hatchlings. Almost the entire green turtle population in parts of the northern Great Barrier Reef in Australia is now female.
