Broward’s Water Wells Are More At Risk From Rising Seas Than Miami-Dade’s, Study Finds – WLRN

Article Synopsis –  Researchers looking at how sea level rise will impact drinking water wells in Miami-Dade and Broward counties in the next 20 years have found that the freshwater wells in Broward are the most vulnerable. “County maps show saltwater has intruded underground past the Fort Lauderdale airport, threatening wells for several cities, including Hallandale Beach and Fort Lauderdale (which has wells providing water to several other municipalities).
