Article Synopsis – This is my Op-Ed about why the melting of the ice sheet in Greenland is ground zero for global sea-level rise, and something every South Floridian needs to pay attention to. “The extra heat now stored in the ocean means that sea level can no longer be stopped this century. If the ice sheet and glaciers on Greenland fully melt, global sea level would be 24 feet higher.” We need to design viable coastal communities for the future, and we need to begin now.
