Article Synopsis – According to new research, and the oil industry’s own reports, “the most widely-used technology for detecting methane leaks from oil and gas operations does not work reliably in extremely cold weather”. Methane leaks across the country are already underreported, with some areas leaking up to five times more methane than is reported by the industry.
