Article Synopsis – Human-induced global warming is affecting the jet stream, resulting in more extreme summertime weather including floods, droughts, wildfires, and heatwaves. The warmth in the arctic causes the jet stream winds in the atmosphere to slow down, stall, or behave strangely. This can cause weather systems to persist in regions, leading to weather extremes.
