Just Ten Rivers Contribute Most Plastic Pollution – The Maritime Executive

Article Synopsis – Researchers have found that just ten rivers contribute up to 95 percent of the eight million tons of plastic waste that enter the world’s oceans every year. The researchers’ calculations indicated that the amount of plastic in rivers was related to the mismanagement of plastic waste in their watersheds. It is estimated that the amount of plastic rubbish in the world’s oceans will outweigh fish by 2050 unless drastic action is taken. To read the actual article click here.
