Rising seas threaten nearly $1 trillion worth of US homes – MSN

Article Synopsis – According to a new report from Zillow, if sea levels were to rise 6 feet, 1.9 million homes, or $916 billion worth of U.S. residential real estate could be lost. Zillow also found that 39 percent of homes expected to be underwater by the year 2100 are in the most valuable category. The majority of homes at risk of flooding, 65 percent, are in suburban areas. Of the nation’s largest cities, Miami , New York, Boston, Fort Myers, Los Angeles, Charleston, South Carolina, Houston and New Orleans have the highest volume of homes at risk of flooding. To read the actual article click here.
