Fossil coral reefs show sea level rose in bursts during last warming – Phys Org
Article Synopsis – Fossil evidence in drowned coral reefs shows that sea level did not rise steadily but rather in sharp, punctuated bursts when the planet’s glaciers melted at the close of the last ice age. Non-linear sea-level rise poses a particular risk to those communities that are not prepared for future inundation. This is the first evidence ever offered for sea-level rise on a time scale ranging from decades to one century. To read the actual article click here.
