Article Synopsis – According to a new report, in the coming decade, economic losses from extreme weather and air pollution caused by burning fossil fuels could rise to $360 billion annually, crippling U.S. economic growth. The report underestimates the economic impact as it doesn’t include a number of climate-related losses such as reduced crop yields from drought, health impacts of heat waves or impacts on ecosystems and water resources. The report also looks at low-carbon solutions that can cut emissions and air pollution and benefit the U.S. economy like renewable energy and carbon taxes. To read the actual article click here.
