Article Synopsis – With the growing awareness of sea level rise, coastal states, counties and waterfront communities have begun to swing into action with “resilience” plans that often mix regulation, zoning and construction projects. According to one NOAA study, about half of all states with coastal exposure have created agencies to specifically study and suggest remedies for sea-level rise.  Some of these remedies include seawalls, drains, natural mangrove swamps, dunes, and marsh barriers, new flood maps, and raised buildings and streets. To read the actual article click here.
