Article Synopsis – A new report from the World Meteorological Organization finds there is a 20% chance global average temperatures could exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels in at least one of the next five years. Drastic action needs to be taken to reduce carbon emissions for there to be “any hope of meeting the goals set out by the Paris Agreement, which aims to keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius by the year 2100”. To read the actual article click here
